Courage Cookies

Remember the 2020 lockdown when we all took up baking, puzzling, and then hopped on Houseparty to catch up with friends? Well Chelsea Hearty and Ian Moores took that energy to another level by founding Courage Cookies – a bakery with a cause and seriously delicious cookies. Founded during the pandemic with a goal of raising $10,000 towards COVID-19 relief, the pair have given over $70,000 to local community organizations to date with no plans of stopping and they now maintain two locations in Toronto’s west-end.

It's so perfect, like an angel’s pillow

It all started one evening when Ian, determined to make the perfect cookie for Chelsea (a noted sweet treat skeptic), dusted off an old family recipe. The result was a simple, buttery, just-the-right-amount-of-chew cookie with an appearance Ian could only describe as an “angel's pillow”. Seemingly overnight, the cookie with humble beginnings reached beyond Chelsea and Ian’s home to friends, family, then cafes and boutique grocers across Toronto – the latter of which began asking for Courage Cookies in their display cases every morning. “As a first-time business owner, growing quickly, we were suddenly challenged with being in two (or more!) places at once,” Chelsea recalls.

In fall of 2021, following this new surge in demand, Courage Cookies reached out to a local Facebook foodie group in search of a reliable delivery service and was referred to BLSH. “I asked Courage Cookies what their biggest headache was and how we could help,” says Sarah Brown, Founder, BLSH Delivery. “I was surprised to learn that at the time, unless you are doing the baking and the driving, there just weren’t many options for quick – but not instant – delivery at a price-point bakers could afford”.  That’s when we said we got you and took on the fledgling bakery’s Tuesday and Thursday wholesale deliveries.

Stay safe! Stuff your face!

A whirlwind year and a half later and we’ve seen Courage Cookies’ wholesale business boom with 4X the number of B2B delivery customers with deliveries made three times a week. “BLSH saved my business – the team has managed hundreds (maybe thousands!) of orders since we found them,” says Chelsea.  “Regardless of the order, big or small, I can trust BLSH will get it there without breaking the bank and would highly recommend them to anyone ready to outsource their deliveries!”.
